James Tirado
Vice President
- Degree: Actuarial Studies / Economics
- How I got into athletics: Growing up with a vision impairment, I knew that ball sports would never be my thing. So initially I chose martial arts and did cross country to stay fit for that. However, one day my coach said: “hey you seem fast, have you ever tried sprinting”. So I gave that a crack, and right away I found the speed and explosiveness exhilarating; I knew I’d found my calling. Been training seriously ever since and would love to represent Australia in the 100m at the Paralympics for vision impaired athletes.
